  • Steven H. Wicklund, 69, was charged with criminal sexual conduct in the third degree
  • Police say he attacked the girl at the Oakwood Club nudist community
  • The girl was reportedly told before the attack that Wicklund was a “family friend.”

According to her family, a 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted at a nudist camp while visiting her grandparents.

Steven H. Wicklund, 69, was charged last week with criminal sexual conduct in the third degree in Anoka County, north of St. Paul, Minnesota.

Police say the Wisconsin resident attacked the girl in July while they were naked and alone in a clubhouse at The Oakwood Club, which bills itself as a non-sexual, family-friendly nudist community.

The girl’s parents were alerted to the situation in August after her mother found texts from Wicklund asking for explicit photos of her and her friends, according to the Star Tribune’s criminal complaint.

Police say they checked the teen’s phone and found messages that were sexual in nature sent by Wicklund.

The texts reportedly included messages like “Hey Sexy” and “Are you masturbating or having sex with your girlfriends?”

The mother told police the girl, who has not been named, then admitted to sexually touching Wicklund while he digitally penetrated and groped her.

According to the complaint, the girl was told Wicklund was a “family friend.”

Wicklund allegedly told the girl that “it was fine and normal” for them to touch each other sexually.

The girl said that when she told Wicklund to stop, he grabbed her hand and placed it on his genitals.

Wicklund was charged by summons and is expected to appear in court on January 12.

If convicted, he faces 15 years in prison and a $30,000 fine.
