It is claimed that the pair struck up a conversation online before deciding to meet, but things between the pair turned sour
“They had a good time together, but she ended it and he moved on.”
It is said that Layla was surprised to see Giovanni with Molly since they look so alike, but things between them had already ended before Giovanni was linked to Molly.
Giovanni reportedly messaged Layla on Instagram last September, but she initially didn’t want to go out with him.
But she warmed up to him and the pair met on a date a few months later.
MailOnline has contacted representatives for Giovanni and Layla for comment.
Earlier this month it was first reported that Giovanni was dating model Molly.
A source told the Mirror: ‘Giovanni and Molly met a few weeks ago, and even though it’s still very early, things seem to be going well between them.
“He kept things quiet because he didn’t want to put too much pressure while they got to know each other.

‘But the signs so far seem positive and he has let some of his friends in on the secret. It’s mainly a matter of keeping an eye on this space.’
MailOnline contacted Giovanni and Molly’s representatives for comment.
The Italian dancer has previously dated a host of stars including Love Island’s Maura Higgins, former The Only Way Is Essex star Jess Wright and his former Strictly celebrity partner Georgia May Foote.
He was last linked to Strictly co-star Jowita Przystal before reportedly splitting after three months in March 2023 due to their ‘hectic work schedules’.
It comes after Giovanni criticized his teaching techniques as having come under fire when his 2023 Strictly partner Amanda Abbington claimed the show left her with post-traumatic stress disorder.
During an appearance on The One Show last month, he was asked about his celebrity partners’ training, to which he said: “I’m definitely a perfectionist.”
‘Like everyone else, I like to win. But for me it’s more about getting the best out of partners, especially when I see that there is talent there. I want to do my job well.’
His alleged feuds with 2016 partner Laura Whitmore and 2020 Ranvir Singh have also resurfaced, while 2021 Rose Ayling-Ellis and 2017 Debbie McGee have spoken out in his defense.

Giovanni has previously lifted the lid on his intensive rehearsal schedule.
I’m talking to Spencer Matthews about his Big fish podcast last May, Giovanni provided insight into his grueling training regimen when he revealed that his key to success as a dancer was: “Practice, like 20 hours a day.”
He continued, “The studio is open 24 hours a day. Well, sleep 18 hours a day and go back to the studio to practice. Lots of lessons.’
Giovanni also credited his can-do attitude and refusal to accept defeat with his success.
The star explained how he feels about losing: “I don’t want to sound cliché, but when you lose, when something doesn’t go your way, I’m one of those people who gets back up, just like Rocky Balboa, one of my idols, you go down, but you get right back up.
‘For me there is no point if you lose to cry about those things, you are the person who chooses your future.
“No one else can do it for you, so you have to find a way to make it better.”
When asked if he ever feels emotionally vulnerable, he replied: ‘I stay away from that, the reason why I think is a waste of time.
It comes after Giovanni criticized how his teaching techniques had come under fire when his 2023 Strictly partner Amanda Abbington claimed the show left her with PTSD.
Amanda left Strictly in week five of October last year and did not return for the final, when eliminated celebrities took part in a group dance
‘I think vulnerability is good, it’s beautiful, but in my head it’s just not right, because there is always a solution to do better.
“I have a million problems, but I always find a way to make things better, I’m not one of these people who cry. That vulnerable is not a word I can use to describe myself.’
It comes after Amanda revealed she had received ‘death threats’ from Strictly Come Dancing fans in a new interview.
The star was linked to Giovanni but quit the BBC One program mid-series last year due to ‘personal issues’.
It was subsequently revealed that she had been diagnosed with PTSD following her participation on the show.
Speak with The sun on SundayAmanda thanked her fans as well as other Strictly stars for their support.
She explains: ‘I was diagnosed with mild PTSD after Strictly for various reasons and I confidently told a few people about it, including things that were happening in my life at the time, both professionally and personally.’
“I am deeply sorry that people felt the need to threaten me with death, threaten my children and bring up my past, healthy relationship with an ex-partner as an indicator of my current mental health. I wish those people the best.’
She has two children with her actor ex Martin Freeman, daughter Grace, 15, and son Joe, 17.
It was recently claimed that the show left her with PTSD and demanded footage from rehearsals to highlight the Italian’s ‘tense’ and ‘full-on’ training methods, which reportedly caused her a lot of distress.
