Gino D’Acampo’s controversial ITV show to ‘begin filming again after being shelved’ following ‘horror crash’

Gino D’Acampo will reportedly resume filming on his new travel show after it was abruptly halted six months ago due to a ‘horror crash’.

Emissions Impossible would be presented by Gino and his good friend Fred Sirieix, but the show was canceled after a shocking luge accidentwith ‘blood everywhere’.

The chef, 47, had been in Vienna with the French maître d’hôtel, 52, for the new travel show as they visited some of Europe’s most beautiful locations when the accident occurred, leaving Gino furious.

However, ITV appears to have ironed things out with the Italian chef and they are heading back to the Alps to resume filming next month. The sun have revealed.

A TV insider told the publication: ‘It’s quite unusual for a show to be shelved so spectacularly, only to come back months later.

‘They are usually completely written off. But ITV clearly felt this was worth taking a step further. Emissions Impossible was about greener travel.

‘Ironically, by the time all the presenters, producers and crew have finished filming, they will have flown twice from Britain to Europe – and back again.’

MailOnline has contacted representatives for Gino and ITV for comment.

The incident took place in October and saw Gino attempt to go down a ’60 meter long slide on a sled, cocktail glass in hand’, as the chef last described it as ‘the worst shoot of my life.’

Gino was reportedly filming a piece on camera when a mother and her two children came down the hill at 50 km/h and crashed.

An ambulance was called for the children while Gino was treated at the scene, with the broadcaster offering advice and support to those involved.

Both presenters had reported safety issues before filming, with the presenter leaving ‘in a rage’ after also falling ill the next day after working ’14 hours a day in freezing conditions’.

An ITV representative told MailOnline in October: ‘Contrary to reports, filming for Emission Impossible, which was produced for ITV by an independent production company, was postponed due to illness.

‘We have a robust and comprehensive policy that we implement contractually with our suppliers and partners.

‘The independent production companies that make shows for us are primarily responsible for the duty of care of everyone they work with, both on and off screen.

‘This includes putting in place appropriate health and safety arrangements. We are speaking to Betty TV, the production company that makes Emission Impossible, to clarify their position.”

The six-part series would also revolve around the Croatian islands as the pair attempted to go green.

It ensures that they eat, sleep and travel as sustainably as possible while they explore some of Europe’s most beautiful locations.
