Gino D’Acampo is hit with complaints over his behaviour as ITV staff say they felt ‘uncomfortable’

Gino D’Acampo receives complaints about his behaviour, as ITV staff claim the celebrity chef made them “uncomfortable”.

TV star Gino D’Acampo is at the center of complaints from staff who feel “uncomfortable” by his behavior towards them.

The Mail on Sunday understands that employees working on Gordon, Gino & Fred: Road Trip, the ITV show he presents with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix, have raised their concerns with the producers.

A source said “some people” who work with him don’t like how he operates both on set and at extracurricular events like farewell parties.

This follows celebrity chef D’Acampo admitting that he has decided to leave the show, saying he doesn’t want ‘stressful’ contract talks to ruin his friendship with his co-stars.

Gino D’Acampo has become a mainstay on British television since his appearance on I’m a Celeb in 2009.

Although the complaints are not believed to be a contributing factor to his decision to leave after four seasons, they have been noted by bosses at Studio Ramsay, the company founded by Gordon Ramsay that makes the show.

A source from the show said: ‘Crews, collaborators and TV executives see how Gino behaves. He gets discussed a lot in the industry, which is not ideal.’

While D’Acampo, a father of three, did not respond to an opportunity to comment on the complaints yesterday, a source on set admitted that the allegations could be a “generational issue” and that the 46-year-old considers himself himself as a ‘cheeky fellow Italian’.

They said: ‘Gino has an old school attitude and often thinks he’s being funny when perhaps those who are slightly younger than him would have a different opinion.

“There are times when it’s made people uncomfortable, but there’s the whole millennial vs. older generation thing going on on TV right now.”

Gino co-hosted the show Road Trip with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix starting in 2018

Speaking about his decision to leave the show, Mr D’Acampo said last weekend: “The reason is simple: nothing to do with Gordon and Fred, the friendship is very strong… It’s just because we can’t get together the dates… When the contracts start to be very complicated, then it becomes very stressful.’

The chef hosts Family Fortunes and is a regular on This Morning.

ITV declined to comment.
