Inside Gina Rinehart’s star-studded 70th birthday – as Peter Dutton ‘flies across the country’ to be there: ‘Best night of my life’

Gina Rinehart treated her staff to a black tie event to celebrate her 70th birthday, with a lavish event featuring a horse show and Australian music.

The billionaire mining magnate threw the bash last Thursday night in a huge marquee on the banks of Perth’s Swan River, with Guy Sebastian singing the national anthem.

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton flew all the way from Canberra to attend for just 40 minutes before flying to Melbourne, the AFR reported.

Other Hancock Prospecting executives celebrating birthdays in February were also celebrated with multiple chocolate cakes.

‘Many attended wearing their Rossi boots, and enjoyed a horse show supported by the fantastic Australian music, ‘The man from snowy river”, with riders also dressed accordingly in the iconic Driza-Bone, and Rossi- boots, with large Australian and corporate flags,” reads Ms Rinehart’s website.

It added: ‘Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the event, with very positive comments from the staff in attendance, including ‘the best night of my life’.”

Employees from the Pilbara and elsewhere in Australia were able to beam down to the event.

So did Ms. Rinehart’s “Cambodian daughters,” who shared an inspiring message.

Perth Mayor Basil Zempilas told 6PR he was the MC for the evening.

β€œIt was actually a very special evening,” he said. ‘To see the admiration of the staff, the loyalty, I think.

He added: “And yes, it doubled as a 70th birthday party for the current Western Australian of the Year.”
