Gillian Anderson, 56, looks sensational as she showcases toned midriff in a black bikini during Mexico getaway

Gillian Anderson looked fantastic as she enjoyed a beach day during her outing in Tulum, Mexico on Saturday.

The 56-year-old actress showed off her fit physique in a strapless black bikini top paired with cheeky thong bottoms as she soaked up the sun.

She tied her long, blonde hair into a messy bun and was seen barefoot at one point as she strolled through the sand.

She was on holiday with her three children: daughter Piper Maru Klotz, 30, and sons Oscar Griffiths, 17, and Felix Griffiths, 16.

The Crown star was make-up free and showed off her natural beauty and glowing skin.

For her beach day, she ditched the jewelry and wore several dainty chain bracelets on her wrist.

At one point, while wading through the water, she put on a pair of gold-rimmed sunglasses to shield her eyes from the sun.

She was later seen apparently chatting with someone on the shore as she frolicked in the warm Caribbean waters and gave her sunglasses to someone.

When she wasn’t frolicking in the water, she was walking on the warm, white sand.

Her tropical getaway comes after she opened up about her sex life and highlighted the importance of ‘fantasy’ in the bedroom.

On a September episode of The Modern Love Podcast, Anderson admitted that she wished she was more active in the bedroom when she was single, while discussing love and relationships.

She touched on the importance of sexual fantasy and admitted that there had been times in her life when she thought she could have been “more active in sex.”

“There have definitely been times in my life between relationships when I was single and suddenly decided that I could actually be more active sex-wise than I was.”

She added, “But I know the feeling that it wasn’t something I didn’t do. It was something that didn’t affect me one way or another.

‘But I think people can make a habit of that. I think it’s an easy habit to get into and just put in a box.”

During the podcast, she also talked about how sexual fantasies in a relationship are “healthy” and “can bring people together.”

“I think a fantasy life in a relationship is very healthy,” she said. “I mean, some people can’t reach climax without a fantasy helping them.”

Anderson continued, “I would also say that sharing it with your partner is incredibly healthy and can potentially improve the sex a couple can have.”

She added: ‘If you feel like you can put yourself in a vulnerable enough position to be able to share it, because it’s very intimate details and it can just bring people together.’

She also revealed how practicing intense yoga daily helped her transform her love life.

“There was a period where I was single for a while,” she recalls. ‘I lived in Los Angeles. I was between relationships and maybe in my early thirties. And I’ve just started doing very intense Ashtanga yoga on a regular basis.’

She added, “And I felt more connected to myself and my body than I ever have in my life, I think.”

She said that once she started doing yoga more regularly, people tended to be drawn to her.

“There was a period where people just popped out of the woodwork.”
