Maisie Smith was spotted giggling as she stepped out in a plastic rain hood during a date with her boyfriend Max George in Manchester on Thursday.

The 23-year-old former EastEnders star and the 35-year-old Wanted singer, who met on Strictly Come Dancing in 2020, appeared to be in high spirits as they arrived at Gordon Ramsay’s Lucky Cat restaurant.

Maisie didn’t let the bad weather spoil her look and teamed her outfit with a sheer plastic hood.

She paired her practical accessory with a striking red leather jacket and cropped bootcut jeans.

To complete her colorful look, Maisie wore a sheer, hot pink top, gold ballerina flats and a black leather bag over her shoulder.

Max also dressed practically for a night out, wearing camouflage pants, a black hoodie and white, chunky sneakers.

Their amorous outing comes after Max and Maisie ruled out working together after a ‘difficult’ audition for a major theatre show.

The duo will play a married couple in Jeff Wayne’s musical version of The War Of The Worlds, which will tour in 2025.

The duo auditioned together as a couple, with Max joking during an interview with Good Morning Britain: ‘This is the first time we’ve done it… probably the last time! It was a bit tricky at times but we pulled it off in the end.’

“We’re so ready! We can’t wait, it’s going to be so good!” He added: “Honestly, we’re so ready!”

The musical will be playing in 17 major theatres across the UK in March, marking 130 years since the original HG Wells novel was released.

The War of The Worlds team announced on social media: ‘We are so excited to announce our first two cast members performing on The Spirit of Man Tour, 2025…

‘For the first time in Mars history, a real-life couple will appear as the married couple: @maxgeorge from The Wanted as Parson Nathaniel and @maisiesmithofficial as Beth.

Jeff said: ‘Being a couple in real life will add to their charisma and chemistry on stage. Maisie has such a melodic yet powerful voice, which complements Max’s dramatic and soulful vocals beautifully.’

Maisie moved in with Max early last year and since then they have been busy renovating their dream home.

Maisie told The Sun on Sunday how happy she is to be living with Max and dismissed her concerns about the couple’s 13-year age gap.

She said, “If it wasn’t, it would be something else. People don’t understand what goes on behind closed doors in a relationship.

“I think they also forget that I’m a consenting 21-year-old woman who’s been working longer than Max!”

‘I don’t notice the age difference and neither do my friends and family. My mother Julia is the one who reads all the comments.

‘Yesterday I got a text from her saying, “Just ignore them, you guys are made for each other.”‘
