Giants rookie Malik Nabers’ suffers frightening concussion scare in loss to Cowboys
New York Giants rookie Malik Nabers was enjoying his breakthrough performance against the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday, until an unfortunate fall in the final moments of the game left him with a concussion.
The former LSU star receiver attempted a diving catch along the sideline but appeared to land head first before lying nearly motionless on the turf for a few moments. He was promptly taken to the injury tent, where he was examined before returning to the dressing room.
Meanwhile, back on the field, Giants (1-3) quarterback Daniel Jones was intercepted on a last-ditch Hail Mary, allowing the Cowboys (2-2) to escape with a 20-15 victory.
Nabers finished with a game-high 123 catches for 115 yards before the injury.
He was productive in his previous three starts, making 23 catches for 271 yards and even a pair of touchdowns. But against the Cowboys, the sixth overall pick of April’s NFL Draft exceeded the highest expectations.
