The Battle of New York has continued to rage since Saturday’s Giants vs. Jets preseason game, with the G-Men linebacker firing back at “sucker s***” pulled by the Jets’ Aaron Rodgers and Randall Cobb.

As captured on HBOs Hard blowsRodgers fell back to pass, but long after the game ended, Giants eight-year veteran Jihad Ward kept charging the quarterback and gave him a light shove.

Rodgers made an exception to that and shoved Ward back before the two players came face to face in front of an umpire.

Among other things, Rodgers said, “I don’t even know who you are, mate.” Ward replied with “I don’t know who you are,” before the pair finally broke up. After the touchdown, they got back to it when Rodgers warned “don’t poke the bear.”

Well, Ward has – and with it added even more spice to the Jets-Giants Week 8 game on October 29.

The pair started chirping to each other before Rodgers said, “I don’t even know who you are”

“There’s a reason I behaved this way from the start,” Ward told reporters Wednesday.

“There’s a reason I pushed him like that. The reason why is that I don’t get dropped by my motherfucking teammates. And Randall – what’s his name? – Randall Cobb? He knew what he was doing.

“That was a cheap s–t. If I see something on the field, I have to do what I have to do.’

Ward references a blindside block placed on Bobby McCain by the former Packers receiver, which Cobb and Rodgers enjoyed in the aftermath.

“Ultimately, I don’t want anyone here to think I was trying to cause a scene,” Ward continued. “There’s a reason why I do things. That was a dork Randall Cobb and Aaron Rodgers did, and I stamp on that.

‘I’m not hiding for nothing. Laugh now, cry later… They’re gonna entertain, they’re gonna show his part, HBO. They weren’t even involved in the whole scenario of what actually happened, so they’re going to show his side of the story and make me look like a dork. But I’m not going for that.

“My side of the story is that I will not allow my teammates to be beaten down like this.”

Brace yourself for October 29; the game that takes place once every four years certainly has additional significance.
