Wink Martindale reportedly cursed out Giants head coach Brian Daboll before leaving the postseason meeting, but the defensive coordinator has yet to formally resign.
Despite upsetting the Philadelphia Eagles in a one-sided 27-10 victory on Sunday, New York’s 6-11 season has prompted Daboll and the front office to make changes to the coaching staff.
After learning that outside linebackers coach Drew Wilkins and his brother Kevin, a defensive assistant, had both been fired, Martindale reportedly walked out of the building — but not before making his feelings clear to Daboll. That is according to the New York Post.
But while Martindale reportedly told those around him that he planned to resign, the team still hasn’t heard from him — more than 24 hours after Monday’s meeting.
On Tuesday morning, Martindale was spotted at Newark Airport boarding a flight to Sarasota.

Martindale is still contractually tied to the Giants, with the defensive coordinator reportedly owed $3 million for the 2024 season.
The 60-year-old, who joined the Giants in 2022, would forfeit that money if he were to resign.
The Giants could also prevent Martindale from accepting a job elsewhere.
Drew Wilkins was his “most loyal confidante.” Martindale brought both brothers from the Ravens to New York.
Daboll had said Monday morning that he “expected” his defensive coordinator and offensive coordinator Mike Kafka will return in 2024.
However, special teams coach Thomas McGaughey and offensive line coach Bobby Johnson were also fired.
