The Giants’ comeback win against the Arizona Cardinals was soured when Saquon Barkley suffered an ankle injury, leaving him seriously questionable for Thursday night’s game in San Francisco.
Barkley was an integral part of Big Blue’s second-half revival, where it scored 24 unanswered points to win 31-28 in the desert.
However, the star running back limped off the field late in the fourth quarter with the help of trainers with an apparent right ankle injury.
Since then the scans have been negative and an MRI will take place tomorrow Jordan Schultz.
According to the report, New York believes Barkley has a sprained ankle, which is not considered a “serious injury.”

Barkley had 92 scrimmage yards, including both a rushing and receiving touchdown
Barkley had 92 scrimmage yards in Glendale – including 17 carries for 63 rushing yards and six receptions for 29 receiving yards.
The former No. 2 overall pick also had a rushing and receiving touchdown. The latter was typically spectacular.
Quarterback Daniel Jones found Barkley on an option route with 8:54 left as the G-Men trailed 28-14.
After Barkley retrieved the football, he ran and dove for the pylon, acrobatically toppling it for six.
He made several key plays as the Giants scored another touchdown on the next drive before Graham Gano put in the go-ahead field goal on the next drive.
