Ghislaine Maxwell fears brutal assault after betraying two violent Cuban prisoners

Ghislaine Maxwell lives in constant fear of a brutal beating behind bars after betraying two violent Cuban prisoners for trying to blackmail her, DailyMail.com can exclusively reveal.

The pair were thrown into solitary confinement for 47 days after Maxwell reported them to FCI Tallahassee authorities for demanding items from her commissioner.

But now she’s “panicked” because the two bullies have been released back into the general prison population and are out for revenge, according to sources at the Florida low-security lockup.

Maxwell, 61, is said to be so afraid of retaliation that she refuses to use the shower cubicles – a frequent setting for violent ambushes involving razor blades or socks full of bars of soap.

According to insiders, Maxwell was already on bad terms with the two women because they were put off by her aloof and snobby attitude.

The small-time sex trafficker is escorted to and from her job in the prison library daily by a guard, while the Cubans – described as “tattooed, tall and fat” – have been transferred to another ward.

But an insider told the DailyMail.com: “Las Cubanas have a reputation for being tough and mean in prison and they don’t flout anything. They say Maxwell has to pay for the 47.

“Snitches get stitches, as the saying goes. They’ll beat her up as soon as they get the chance.’

Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence for buying girls for her late pedophile lover Jeffrey Epstein, fell out with the two Cubans after they criticized her for being aloof and snobbish.

The disgraced British socialite, 61 – pictured as part of a trial while in custody for her trial – is so terrified of retaliation she demanded a transfer, sources say

Our source says the pair found out that strict vegan Maxwell had an “arrangement” with a kitchen worker who would steal extra fruits, veggies and tofu for her.

The disgraced socialite traded the fresh fare for items purchased through the prison commissioner’s shop, which mainly sells snacks, candy and other junk food.

“When the Cubans found out what Max was doing, they demanded she spend her entire $360 commissioner limit on things for them or they would report her,” the insider explained.

“They even wrote her a note, which was a bad idea because Max took it to the lieutenant’s office as proof of blackmail.

“They take that kind of thing very seriously because it’s considered threatening someone.

“The girls each spent 47 days in the SHU and are super angry about it.”

The SHU – Special Housing Unit – is a ‘prison within a prison’ consisting of tiny, stark cells where inmates are confined 23 hours a day and fed through slits in the door.

Ironically, Maxwell herself was imprisoned there for 48 hours after she gave a prison interview to British broadcaster Jeremy Kyle in January.

She was released after an internal investigation found she had not taken advantage of the tell-all chat, which was recorded via a prison video call.

Maxwell, who is serving a 20-year sentence at FCI Tallahassee, pressed charges against the two women for allegedly trying to blackmail her, which led to authorities throwing the duo into solitary confinement for 47 days

Maxwell apparently rubbed the women the wrong way after discovering she was in cahoots with a kitchen worker who would steal extra fruits, veggies, and tofu for her, which she would then trade for items in the commissary store.

FCI Tallahassee, where Maxwell is expected to serve her sentence until at least July 17, 2037, has an SHU – Special Housing Unit – a “prison within a prison” made up of small, stark cells where inmates are confined 23 hours a day and fed by slits in the door

The looming threat of a vengeful attack has left Maxwell too frightened to use the shower stalls – a frequent setting for violent ambushes involving razor blades or socks full of bars of soap

The source added: ‘The first rule of life inside is never give up. If you have a problem, you solve it with the other inmate, one on one, usually by fighting.

“So when the girls got out, Max was in a panic. She actually had a nervous breakdown about it. She even demanded a transfer.

“Max was given the option of self-isolating by going into custody. It’s the same as the SHU, the only difference is that it’s voluntary, so she wouldn’t accept that.

“One of the Cubans has a particular reputation for starting fights and intimidating other prisoners. She’s due out later this month, so Max is praying the guards can keep her safe until then.

Maxwell will be 75 by the time she is released unless she can quash her conviction for helping warped financier Epstein groom and abuse women.

Her appeal is led by powerful attorney Arthur Aidala, who also represents disgraced movie mogul Harvey Weinstein.

Aidala has argued that the British subject was used as a “power of attorney” to “gratify public anger” after Epstein hung himself behind bars in 2019.

Maxwell — federal prisoner 02879-509 — used her Jan. 23 interview with TalkTV’s Kyle to complain about her 6 a.m. start and the boring prison diet of tofu and beans.

She also sparked controversy by claiming without evidence that Prince Andrew’s now-infamous photo with Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre was fake.

Maxwell is said to have been friends with notorious double killer Narcy Novack (left) and prison con artist Linda Morrow. Morrow has now been transferred from Tallahassee

Despite her complaints, Maxwell has daily access to an enviable array of sports facilities, including the 400-meter running track where DailyMail.com jogged her for an hour last year.

She also teaches a range of classes, including yoga, Pilates and etiquette classes, for the prison’s 753 female inmates.

Prior to her arrest in 2019, jet-setter Maxwell’s long list of high society friends included Prince Andrew and former President Bill Clinton.

Behind bars, she hung out with con artist Linda Morrow, who helped her plastic surgeon husband defraud insurers of $44 million by pretending that cosmetic procedures such as tummy tucks, breast augmentations and “vaginal rejuvenation” were a medical necessity.

But Morrow, 70, has now been transferred to another prison in California.

Another friend is Narcy Novack, a 65-year-old Florida woman serving life without parole for hiring hitmen to kill her hotelier husband Ben Novak Jr. and murder his elderly mother Bernice in a grab for their family estate.

Maxwell, daughter of disgraced British newspaper mogul Robert Maxwell, was convicted of five counts in December 2021 of grooming minors for Epstein’s longtime confidant.

“Miss Maxwell will not be punished in place of Epstein or as a proxy,” Judge Alison Nathan said at her sentencing. “Miss Maxwell is being punished for the part she played.”
