Emotional Gethin Jones wipes away tears as he raises over £1m for Comic Relief at 24-hour ball

Gethin Jones is a Welsh television presenter who participated in Strictly Come Dancing 16 years ago.

And on Friday, an emotional Gethin, 45, wiped away tears when told he had raised more than £1 million for Comic Relief through his 24-hour dance-a-thon.

The BBC Morning Live presenter danced the night away dressed as Pixar’s Mr. Incredible in a bid to raise funds, which are still rising.

Gethin joined co-stars Kimberley Walsh and Helen Skelton live for the final countdown to completing their charity dance-a-thon.

He showered gold confetti on them after the ticker ran out, telling viewers: ‘This celebration sums it up. All the overnight messages have been phenomenal.

‘I can’t believe how much we’ve raised for Comic Relief!’ admitted the daytime TV star.

With a lump in his throat, Gethin began to cry as he said, ‘It’s going to change lives. He is going to save lives. I’ve said it all along, I’m very proud.
