Getaway host Catriona Rowntree launches into a new career by earning her pilot’s license after taking flying lessons.

She reached the heights of success as a TV presenter.

And Catriona Rowntree has now set her sights on taking to the skies over Victoria.

The 51-year-old Getaway host earned her pilot’s license after taking flying lessons, reports the herald sun.

He discussed his achievement in an Instagram post on Thursday, revealing that he had previously tried and failed to achieve his goal.

‘I got on a flight [this morning] and I could hear people talking about me while reading this article,” the travel journalist wrote.

She reached the heights of success as a TV presenter, and Catriona Rowntree has now set her sights on taking to the skies of Victoria.

The 51-year-old Getaway host earned her pilot’s license after taking flying lessons.

“I hope it inspires at least one other woman, regardless of age, to learn to fly, in fact, for anyone to tackle a goal they may have,” she added.

She admitted it was a “beautiful feeling” attending her flight classes this week and felt empowered to be among other students ranging in age from 14 to 80.

Catriona was tasked with sailing a TL Ultralight Sting during her course.

He discussed his achievement in an Instagram post on Thursday, revealing that he had previously tried and failed to reach his goal.

Catriona has no plans to buy her own plane yet, but she hopes to rack up her flight hours and be a part of the aviation community.

“I had to do the course intensively because I’m married to a farmer, so I did it in a few weeks,” she said.

Fortunately, she had a support network that included her husband James Pettit, which made the experience even more rewarding.

The seasoned reporter is best known as the host of Channel Nine’s travel show Getaway, a role that began in 1996.

Catriona has no plans to buy her own plane yet, but she hopes to rack up her flight hours and be a part of the aviation community.
