Directorial debut: 2017 hit Get Out starring Daniel Kaluuya, who meets his white girlfriend’s parents for the first time, played by Girls actress Allison Williams.
As the visit continues, Daniel’s character begins to suspect that things are not as they seem, and his fears are confirmed in terrifying ways.
Notably, Kaluuya received an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor, and the feature itself was up for Best Picture and Best Director for Peele.
Peele’s latest thriller, Nope, topped weekend box office sales during its wide theatrical release.
The Universal horror-thriller film earned a total of $44 million, Deadline reported.
Thor: Love And Thunder consequently fell to number two at the box office, with Minions: The Rise Of Gru coming close behind but still in the top three.
While $44 million may not seem like a huge number, that’s the highest opening box office sale for an original film since Jordan’s previous hit, Us (2019), according to Variety.
The filmmaker is also behind Get Out (2017), which earned around $255 million globally on a budget of just $4.5 million.

Us had a slightly higher budget of $20 million and interestingly also grossed a similar amount of $255 million in theaters around the world.
With Nope focusing on the extraterrestrial, the budget for creating hypnotic UFOs and supernatural contacts increased a bit to $68 million.
The sci-fi thriller centers on two brothers who own a horse ranch on the outskirts of the California desert and “witness a strange and chilling discovery.”
Along with Jordan jumping behind the camera, the cast includes Keke Palmer, Get Out star Daniel Kaluuya, The Walking Dead’s Steven Yeun, and Brandon Perea.
