  • The next cruise in December sold out in eight hours and 125 people will be in attendance

A nude cruise set sail for Sydney Harbor on Sunday for the ‘largest nude cruise event in the country’.

During Get Naked Australia’s unique experience, 60 guests celebrated their body positivity by wearing only sunscreen and sunglasses – and the organizers hope the event will become Sydney’s next big tourist attraction.

Guests cruised around the beautiful harbor admiring the glittering views before anchoring at Cobblers Beach – the city’s main nudist shore.

People between the ages of 21 and 55 stripped down and had fun in the truest form of ‘sun’s out, buns out’.

The cruise is a strictly non-sexual event and it’s all about teaching people to be comfortable in their own skin.

Brendan Jones, founder of Get Naked Australia, told FEMAIL he would like to see the cruise expanded in the future.

“Nudity is seen as a positive thing across Europe, but Australia still sees it as largely inappropriate, which is a major contributor to body dysmorphism,” Brendan said.

“Our goal is to make massive cruise ship cruises like they do from Florida. We hope that P&O and Carnival will one day become enthusiastic.’

Get Naked Australia hosts a range of events including walks, beach days and yoga, but the cruise event has always been hugely popular.

The first cruise in 2017 had 25 people in attendance, and the next cruise in December sold out in just eight hours with 125 people booked for three boats.

The brand says the benefits of naturism differ but can include improved confidence, acceptance of flaws, connecting with others, making friends with a similar mindset, and opening your mind to a new experience.

The team says those in attendance are not “naturists, nudists, models or sexual deviants,” but “everyday people who undress outside the comfort of their homes.”
