Bundesliga club Eintracht Frankfurt are reportedly concerned that their star goalkeeper Kevin Trapp has become a worse player due to the influence of his ‘sex-crazed’ fiancée.

The 33-year-old Trapp has had a difficult season and missed Germany’s preliminary selection for the 2024 European Championship last week, despite manager Julian Nagelsmann naming four goalkeepers.

His form has sparked fears behind the scenes that Trapp is not fully focused on football at the moment, with the club believing his supermodel partner Izabel Goulart is distracting the shot-stopper, according to Image.

The German outlet reports that Trapp, who played a key role in Frankfurt’s 2022 Europa League win, was accused in training of no longer diving for every shot from close range.

Club insiders believe that 39-year-old Goulart could have a negative effect on his career. They claim she even explains to Trapp how to get out of a car at public events so they can get the best photos as a couple.

Goulart, originally from Brazil, is best known as one of Victoria’s Secret Angels between 2005 and 2008.

She has also worked with Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue and Armani Exchange, and attended the Cannes Film Festival earlier this week with fellow models Elsa Hosk, Poppy Delevingne and Winnie Harlow.

Trapp and Goulart have been engaged since 2018, but have yet to tie the knot.

Early in their relationship, when Trapp was playing for PSG, Goulart opened up about their sex life, claiming that Trapp had introduced a strict rule if his team lost.

“Kevin and I make love a lot, four or five times a week,” she said.

“But if he has a big game and his team loses, I can make myself pretty, get my nails done and wear my best lingerie – and there’s still no sex involved.”

Frankfurt now appear to believe that Goulart has started to have a greater impact on Trapp in recent times, leading to a dip in on-field performances.

Trapp has made nine appearances for Germany, most recently in the friendly defeat to Austria in November, but he has since been overlooked and will not feature in this summer’s tournament in his home country after conceding 48 goals in 32 this season league matches for Frankfurt.

Trapp’s place in the Frankfurt team is also expected to be in jeopardy for next season.

Despite Trapp having a contract with the club until 2026, young Brazilian goalkeeper Kaua Santos, 21, who was signed from Flamengo last summer, is putting pressure on him for his starting place.

Santos has been compared to Liverpool’s Alisson and could be given the opportunity to move ahead of Trapp in the pecking order in the coming months.

Trapp may be struggling between the sticks, but he had no such problems when he had a surprise spell as an outfield player in a post-season friendly on Wednesday.

He came off the bench to play against local amateur side VfL Germania 1894, scoring twice in a 13–1 win.

However, that will most likely be a one-off and Frankfurt will be desperate to rediscover their best form in goal or his days at the club may be numbered.
