Gerard Pique has accused Shakira of not being completely honest about their split in a rare interview on the subject, more than two years after they split.
Shakira, 47, announced she had broken up with the former Barcelona star in June 2022 amid rumors he was cheating after 11 years and two children together.
The Colombian star has since dubbed him ‘Voldemort’, among other comments about Pique in her music.
Now Pique, 37, is dating 25-year-old Clara Chia Marti – and insists he is ‘very happy’ even though Shakira also shot at her.
“At the end of the day, the truth or what is happening or happening is not being told as it was. I have no control over this,” Pique said CNNvia IF.

Pique is in a relationship with 25-year-old Clara Chia Marti, an employee of his company Kosmos
‘The best part is that I am ultimately surrounded by my loved ones, my family, my friends, the people who really know you. They know who you are and what you do and that gives me a lot of peace.
‘I’m very happy, I’m having a great time and I feel privileged. The life I have had, being able to play for the club of my life for more than twenty years, great children, a great family, friends for life, the friends from school that I still have.’
Pique and Shakira had two sons together, Milan, 11, and Sasha, nine.
In 2022, Spanish outlet El Periodico reported that the couple had been living separately for a few weeks after Pique was kicked out of the parental home by the pop star.
There was a theory that Shakira exposed his alleged cheating by discovering that a jar of strawberry jam in their house together had been eaten while she was away. Shakira was reportedly the only strawberry jam eater in the relationship.
However, the South American singer has now debunked that myth.
In the summer of 2023, Pique reportedly moved in with Clara Chia, in the house he had shared with Shakira when she first moved to Barcelona.
In January 2023, video footage emerged showing Gerard’s new girlfriend at the footballer’s family home before his split from Shakira.

Shakira was reportedly left “devastated” by the unearthed footage from August 2021, which was recorded 10 months before she announced her split from her partner of 11 years.
Gerard’s new girlfriend Clara appears to be in the background of a Zoom interview the footballer did from his family home in Barcelona, while Shakira was reportedly abroad with their two children.
Clara is an employee of Pique’s company Kosmos.
