The thriller, starring Gerard Butler as an LA police officer in Europe who catches O’Shea Jackson Jr.’s would-be crook. trying to track down those planning a major diamond heist, debuted with solid ticket sales of $15.5 million at the domestic weekend box office. according to Box Office Mojodespite poor reviews from critics.
Audiences gave the action-adventure a solid 78 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and a B+ on CinemaScore, despite the lackluster response from critics.
“These movies are made for audiences, not critics,” said David A. Gross of Franchise Entertainment Research Variety.
“Gerard Butler is an established action star, and this kind of good-guys-versus-bad-guys material plays well around the world. Foreign affairs must be solid.’
The box office take has not yet opened in the international market and the initial domestic opening did not cover the film’s $40 million budget.

The audience continues to sink their teeth into Nosferatu.
The gothic vampire tale, starring Lily-Rose Depp as the title character’s object of desire, kept the blood flowing with $6.8 million in ticket sales.
Good reviews and international screenings have earned the thriller nearly $135.8 million worldwide.
