Georgie Grasso wins The Great British Bake Off: Mother-of-three, 34, makes history as she impresses judges with her ‘delicious’ baking
Georgie Grasso was crowned the winner of The Great British Bake Off 2024 during the final on Tuesday evening.
The 34-year-old pediatric nurse from Carmarthenshire in Wales defeated fellow finalists Christiaan de Vries and Dylan Bachelet.
The mother-of-three has made history as she became the first Welshwoman to win the show and also reach the final.
Georgie looked shocked after her win and was quickly embraced by her husband and children.
She said: ‘I can’t believe I won it. It means everything, it’s just incredible. I can’t believe I won The Great British Bake Off. I’ve always doubted myself so much.
‘You make excuses and for once I thought: no, I’m going to go for it and put everything into it. I’ve proven to myself that I can do something.’

After her win, judge Prue Leith said: ‘Georgie did what she does best – classic British baking done beautifully and won, and rightly so.’
During the show, the three finalists had to make sweet and savory scones for the signature, afternoon tea for the technical and a three-tiered hanging cake for their showstopper.
Georgie impressed the judges with all her challenges, but they were particularly impressed with her hanging cake, inspired by ‘summer gardens’.
After tasting it, Prue said, “That’s absolutely delicious. It has so much filling’ and is also called ‘soft and luxurious’.
