Georgia Bulldogs tight end Brock Bowers has become the latest top prospect to opt out of practice at this year’s NFL combine.
Bowers will instead work out for NFL teams during Georgia’s pro day on the Bulldogs’ campus on March 13.
The two-time Mackey Award winner is a first-round pick and is widely considered the best player in this year’s draft class, with some experts even predicting him to be one of the top 10 selections in this year’s draft .
Last season, Bowers recorded 714 yards receiving and six touchdowns on 56 receptions.
He was also plagued by a high ankle sprain that required cord surgery and forced him to miss several weeks of the season, although it is not confirmed if that played a role in his decision to opt out of practice in Indianapolis.

Fellow top prospects Caleb Williams and Marvin Harrison Jr will also not get to play
Throughout his college career, Bowers recorded 175 passes, 26 touchdowns and 2,538 yards.
Bowers isn’t the only top prospect who has refused to practice this season after USC quarterback Caleb Williams, LSU QB Jayden Daniels and Ohio State wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. also refused to train with the combination.
Harrison Jr. even raised eyebrows on Friday after he failed to show up for his scheduled media appearance.
“Marvin Harrison isn’t here. He will not speak here. I have no other information,” an NFL public relations spokesperson told reporters Friday morning.
Williams also attracted some extra attention, despite not taking the field after teammate Brenden Rice’s hilariously crashed press conference.
