Georgia player Jamaal Jarrett slammed for racist remark as man announced Falcons Draft pick

A Georgia Bulldog player has come under fire on social media after a video surfaced last week of him making a racist remark during the NFL Draft.

Footage appears to show Jamaal Jarrett, an incoming freshman, streaming himself watching the Draft and calling for fellow Bulldogs star Jalen Carter to be selected by the Atlanta Falcons.

As the eighth pick was about to be announced, Jarrett said of the man on the podium, “Jalen Carter, come on Asian. Ching chong.’

The images are circulating on social media and Jarrett’s ‘thejahjarrett’ verified Instagram account is prominently displayed.

A Twitter account called Asian Crime Report said, “This is unacceptable and disgusting,” as they tweeted the clip in question.

Jarrett’s Twitter account is currently set to private and the Bulldogs have yet to comment on the apparent incident.

His Instagram profile also has closed comments to his posts, but his profile picture – with the number 55 on his jersey – is the same one seen in the offensive video.

The Falcons instead drafted Bijan Robinson, a running back, and Carter was ultimately selected next by the Philadelphia Eagles, runners-up in last season’s Super Bowl.

The incident is more bad news for Bulldogs, who won the College championship earlier this year.

Carter himself was involved in a car accident in January that killed Georgia teammate Devin Willock. Staff member Chandler LeCroy also passed away.

Georgia quarterback Stetson Bennett was later arrested in Dallas on charges of public intoxication.

Bennett was also called up last week – he was picked by the Los Angeles Rams with the 128th selection in Round 4 of the Kansas event.
