Georgia Bulldogs destroy TCU 65-7 in college football playoff as Horned Frogs Cinderella story comes to a crisp end behind Stetson Bennett’s stellar night as Dawgs win back-to-back national titles
The Georgia Bulldogs clinched their second National Championship in consecutive seasons with a blowout 65-7 victory against the outmatched TCU Horned Frogs.
Georgia was a two-point favorite heading into the college football masterpiece at SoFi Stadium, but defied expectations behind quarterback Stetson Bennett.
In his final game for his hometown school, Bennett threw four 18/25 passing touchdowns for 304 yards.
Dawgs tight end Brock Bowers was equally dominant on the offensive end with seven catches for 152 yards and a touchdown.
For TCU, the Cinderella story of college football, this was a bridge too far. Early on, and often, it was apparent that the talent gap between the schools was insurmountable.
After the Horned Frogs closed the deficit to 10-7 late in the first, Georgia racked up 55 unanswered points before the party got started in Los Angeles.
MORE TO COME.
