Police search a waterway on Sydney’s city limits after a man screamed for help in the darkness and disappeared.
Police searched the area by boat and helicopter. An empty boat and a car were found at the scene of the accident.
Emergency services were called to Carinya Road near Picnic Point in Sydney’s south-west at around 11pm on Saturday evening.
People in the area heard a man calling for help from the Georges River, police said in a statement Sunday morning.
Bankstown Police searched the area along with the police helicopter and Marine Area Command.
“A short time later, an empty boat and a black sedan were found nearby,” police said in the statement.
Police divers appear to be focusing on an approximately 10-metre-long enclosed cabin craft named ‘Dee Too’.
A white sloop is tied to ‘Dee Too’.
