George Schenck dead at 82: Producer who worked on NCIS’ first 15 seasons passes away at Brentwood home

George Schenck, a producer and writer who worked on the iconic series NCIS for 15 years, has died at the age of 82.

The Hollywood director died on August 3 at his home in Brentwood, according to Variety.

Schneck played roles in the films Dying to Remember, Crazy Like a Fox and It Came Upon the Midnight Clear, among others.

He served in various roles on the first 15 seasons of the legendary series NCIS, where he worked as a producer and writer.

NCIS star Mark Harmon paid tribute to Schenck in a statement.

“I’m so sorry to hear the news about George,” he said. “The professionalism and tenacity of George and Frank changed the face of the show. I’m so grateful for the team and teamwork they both represented.”

Harmon joined NCIS when it launched in 2003, but ultimately left in 2018.

During his tenure on the series, he served as executive producer, co-executive producer, consulting producer and writer of 48 episodes.
