“He entered into a plea deal to set off a fire alarm, a fire alarm that obstructed and delayed an official hearing and proceeding on the House floor,” Santos said. “If that had been anyone else, one of the members of the media would have been a Republican member of Congress.
We all know that person would have been charged with obstructing a congressional hearing. Just like the 140 people who are now in jail because of January 6, but Jamaal Bowman gets a permit.’
Santos’ resolution will be privileged, meaning it must be voted on within two legislative days.

The Long Island liar survived a vote to expel him earlier this month as 31 Democrats and most Republicans voted to keep him. Many of them said they would prefer to wait for an Ethics Commission report detailing his misdeeds.
That report has now been made public, showing that Santos used campaign money and donations to finance a lavish lifestyle, engaged in fraud, filed false election reports and “intentionally” violated ethics.
“No one here has ever seen ethics reports from other members under investigation. But yeah, another changing precedent for me, it seems like it’s all fair game. So here we go,” Santos continued.
They’re going to go ahead and release this. These reports were littered, littered with exaggerations, littered with an opinion that no decent cop would have to take this to a district attorney or a prosecutor and say, here’s our report, go ahead and indict him. ‘
The 34-year-old freshman member called his expulsion and the report “theatre for the American people at the expense of the American people because no real work is being done.”
Santos was asked if everything he wore at the press conference was bought with campaign money, including his Ferragamo shoes. “No,” he said. “These are six years old.”
