George Santos blames Republicans for losing his House seat in special election but NOT himself in tweet storm after Tom Suozzi racks up big win for Democrats
Long Island liar George Santos took to social media to blast Republicans for losing a seat that was left vacant when he was expelled from Congress.
Democrat Tom Suozzi succeeded the disgraced ex-congressman in Tuesday night’s special election, defeating Republican Mazi Pilip to represent New York’s third congressional district.
As votes were being counted, Santos fired off a series of tweets to express his frustration.
“-1,” the former US representative tweeted when it became clear that Democrats would gain another seat in the House of Representatives.
He took aim at Congressmen Anthony D’Esposito and Nick LaLota, who had campaigned in an effort to rally support for Pilip.

‘Hey, Americans! Please thank these two gems for losing a House seat today!’ Santos captioned a photo of the two men above, originally posted to D’Esposito’s account.
He also called on the chairman of the Nassau County Republican Committee to resign following the loss.
Three days before the crucial special election, Santos’ mind seemed to be elsewhere.
He live-tweeted his reactions to Usher’s halftime performance at the Super Bowl on Sunday night, commenting each time a different performer arrived.
“Luda’s in the MOFO house!” Santos wrote. “Lil Jon is in the house! Holy fucking shit!’
His successor, Suozzi, regained a seat in the 3rd Congressional District, which he held for three terms before running, unsuccessfully, for governor.
Citing his record as a lawmaker, Suozzi campaigned on promises to protect the environment, care for veterans and ensure access to reproductive health care.
He was mayor of Glen Cove, a small town on Long Island, before ascending to the position of Nassau County Executive. Suozzi was elected to the House of Representatives in 2016, 2018 and 2020.

His successor, Suozzi, has a long record of service as an MP, including in the seat he won back in the special election.
Santos mocked the Democrat online before it became clear that Suozzi would claim his seat.
“Watching the #NY3 debate and Tom Suozzi sounds angry and pompous,” Santos wrote on February 8. ‘Hello Tom.’
Pilip, a mother of seven, was elected to the Nassau County Legislature in 2021 and again in 2023.
She was born in Ethiopia, moved to Israel and served in the Israeli Army before coming to the United States. Supporting Israel and combating illegal immigration were central to her campaign.
“Mazi needs to increase her queen vote to 46-48% to get this done,” Santos tweeted as the prospect of her loss loomed.
He was voted out of Congress in December Confronted about his extensive record of lying, he faced multiple criminal charges, including laundering campaign funds and defrauding donors.
More than 100 Republicans joined Democrats in calling out the serial fabulist, bringing the final tally to 311-114.
Santos stormed off the floor of the House of Representatives just minutes before the vote ended, warning reporters that the House had “set a new dangerous precedent for itself.”

His lies were laid out in painstaking detail in a report by the U.S. House Committee on Ethics. Among other things, they invent family links with the Holocaust and claim that his mother died on September 11.
Santos has pleaded not guilty in federal court to 23 charges, including identity theft, charging his donors’ credit cards without their consent and filing false campaign reports. It is expected that he will not appear in court until September next year.
According to the House of Representatives Ethics Committee, Santos “fraudulently attempted to exploit every aspect of his candidacy for the House of Representatives for his own personal financial gain.”
The damning report accuses him of using campaign funds to pay for Botox treatments, designer bags, OnlyFans purchases and casino withdrawals.
The Republican used $3,000 in campaign cash for an Airbnb in the Hamptons, while another multi-thousand dollar transfer to his company was spent on luxury Ferragamo goods and rent.
Santos is also accused of inflating six personal loans for his campaign, claiming they were worth $80,000 when they were only $3,500.
The other lies he told encompassed almost every aspect of his life – including having Jewish and Ukrainian ancestry and surviving a brain tumor.
