Martin also made it clear that House of the Dragon season two was on the way and that his new Wild Cards series is still in development at Peacock.
In October, he revealed he was “three-quarters of the way done” with his sixth Game of Thrones book, The Winds of Winter, during an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert.
The estimated publication date of the novel is November 2023.

Earlier this year, House of the Dragon made history on its debut after garnering 9.99 million viewers, the most in the network’s history.
The ratings for the debut marked the highest numbers going back to before the streaming era and shows that later debuted on HBO Max.
The series, which is a prequel to the smash hit Game of Thrones, more than doubled the 2011 debut of its predecessor, which had 4.2 million viewers at the time. The show earned a record $17.9 million for its final season debut in 2019.
