Trump roasts Oscar-winner George Clooney in epic rant telling him to ‘get out of politics and go back to television’ after actor called on Biden to drop out of the race

Donald Trump has lashed out at George Clooney, claiming the two-time Oscar winner has “never come close to making a great movie” after the actor demanded that Joe Biden withdraw from the White House race.

The Republican candidate lashed out at the lifelong Democrat in a series of posts on his Truth Social Media page.

That came after Clooney wrote a scathing op-ed in the New York Times claiming the president had “saved democracy” by defeating Trump in 2020, but that he would need to resign this time to repeat the feat.

“The corrupt Joe Biden did not save our democracy,” Trump fumed. “He brought our democracy to its knees. Clooney needs to get out of politics and go back to television. Movies never really worked for him!”

The actor’s dramatic intervention came just three weeks after he co-hosted a record-breaking $28 million fundraiser for the president.

But his relationship with the president came under strain last month after Biden criticized an attempt by Clooney’s attorney wife to jail the Israeli prime minister.

Amal Clooney signed a request in May from the International Criminal Court’s chief prosecutor to arrest Benjamin Netanyahu along with Hamas leaders for war crimes, a move the president condemned as “outrageous.”

The actor called the White House to protest after Biden insisted there was “no moral equivalence” between Israel and Hamas and hinted at sanctions against the court that could have led to Clooney’s wife being deported from the US.

On Wednesday, the actor lent his voice to the growing chorus of Democrats calling for the president to resign in response to his chaotic performance in the first presidential election against Donald Trump.

“I love Joe Biden,” he wrote. “But the one battle he cannot win is against time. None of us can win that. “It’s heartbreaking to say, but the Joe Biden I was with at the fundraiser three weeks ago was not the Joe “big F-ing deal” Biden of 2010.

“He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same guy we all saw at the debate.”

Trump appears to be concerned about the possibility of Biden withdrawing. He also took aim at Nancy Pelosi last night after the former House Speaker expressed only lukewarm support for the president’s ambitions.

“Crazy Nancy Pelosi is a cognitive mess,” he wrote. “She has now turned on Crooked Joe.”

But it was Clooney who drew the ire of the former reality TV host of The Apprentice.

“So now fake movie actor George Clooney, who has never been able to make a great movie, is getting involved,” he wrote.
