George Burgess shares cryptic message about being ‘misunderstood’ after shocking split from wife Joanna King

George Burgess recently called time for his marriage to Joanna King, after splitting from her for seven years.

And on Saturday the NRL star, 31, shared a cryptic post on his Instagram Stories about being ‘misunderstood’.

He wrote some reflective words next to a picture of a lone man standing next to a vast ocean.

“Getting wrong can be painful, but it’s also an opportunity to better understand yourself,” he wrote.

It comes after Burgess finally broke his silence after breaking up with his wife.

The NRL champion posted on Instagram on Thursday night a photo of a cloudy tropical seaside setting taken in Cairns, in the far north of Queensland.

Burgess simply captioned the stunning view with one word, ‘#Moody’.

The photo appears to have been taken at dusk and shows an expansive beach lined with palm trees and a mountain range in the distance in the background.

The handsome footy star has ended his seven-year marriage to his ex-model wife, and has since been spotted on dating apps Tinder And Raya only a few months after leaving the family home.

Joanna, an interior designer, reportedly moved back to Queensland with her parents.

Sources close to the player have confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that he left the property he shared with Joanna in March and has since moved into an apartment in Bondi.

Insiders claim the couple, who have three children together and were once considered inseparable, are “100 percent older.”

It appears that the split went amicably, which is in stark contrast to the tumultuous divorce between Burgess’ brother, Sam, and his ex-wife, Phoebe.

Burgess acknowledged Joanna in a recent Mother’s Day tribute, despite their breakup.

George and his ex-model wife met in 2014 while he was playing for the South Sydney Rabbitohs and got engaged two years later and have three children together, Boston, four, Birdie, three, and Blainey, two.
