George Bancs from collapsed construction firm Main Facilities now owns successful social media app

The man behind a construction company that recently went bankrupt over $7 million drives a McLaren and runs a successful video content app that recently took over PR queen Roxy Jacenko’s Instagram account.

Main Facilities Pty Ltd, which traded as Main Industries, was placed into administration last Wednesday.

The company mainly carried out contract work for the NSW state government on projects for schools, healthcare, courts and corrections facilities.

Company director George Bancs – who drives a flashy 2023 McLaren Artura with personalized number plates – blamed the government ending contracts with them for the construction company’s collapse.

Mr Bancs has been active in the construction industry for 26 years and founded the company in 2013.

He also founded the social video content platform WWEEVV, which has just under 95,000 followers on Instagram.

The app allows users to view content from their favorite creators all on one platform, instead of having to switch between apps like TikTok and Instagram.

WWEEVV even recently took over Jacenko’s Sweaty Betty PR Instagram account last October after her “business shut down” when she retired.

“WWEEVV has taken over my Sweaty Betty PR Instagram account. The company ceased operations in November 2022 when I retired,” she said at the time.

Mr. Bancs also owns the app Talk5, an artificial intelligence-based platform that promotes workplace safety.

The app’s website says it allows employees, contractors, suppliers and managers to “seamlessly complete onboardings via voice commands, communicate in their native language and cultivate a safer, more inclusive workspace.”

Mr Bancs was snapped at a black tie event representing Talk5 at Sydney’s Doltone House for the Biaggio Signorelli Foundation gala dinner in November.

Mr Bancs is also a car enthusiast and has taken up motor racing as a hobby, racing his McLaren with other amateur drivers.

‘In motorsport the pressure, teamwork and stress are just as intense as in business, but the transaction is so much more direct: you place your bet and you go to the track. Literally instant gratification,” he told the newspaper AFR in November.

Mr Bancs said he was even preparing to put together a team for the GT World Challenge Australia later this year.

He was also once featured in a video with popular TikTokker Fonzie Gomez, who is known for interviewing wealthy businessmen and celebrities and asking them how they became successful.

Main Facilities owes a total of $7 million to creditors, including its 15 employees and Mr. Bancs, news.com.au reported.

According to administrator Mohammad Najjar, the Australian Taxation Office is owed $2.4 million.

Mr Bancs told the publication that their contracts with the government dried up when Labor came to power last March.

‘Once the Labor government came into power they stopped spending. They hung us out to dry,” he said.

A government spokesperson denied this, saying the company had recently “received contracts for maintenance work at several public schools in NSW”.

“The company has also recently completed roof improvements at Hornsby and Wollongong courts,” they said.

One employee claimed he was no longer receiving retirement benefits and staff were told via a Zoom call last Tuesday that they were not allowed to return to work.

Mr. Bancs said he had put $700,000 of his own money into the company.

The director also wears a Rolex watch and designer brands.

“Anything I personally wear is mine personally, and not the property of the company,” Mr. Bancs told the publication.
