General Hospital’s Adam J. Harrington confirms exit from ABC soap after his character gets shot twice: ‘It was a BLAST, literally!’

General Hospital star Adam J. Harrington has confirmed he is leaving the long-running ABC soap opera after starring as John ‘Jagger’ Cates for 63 episodes.

The 51-year-old Canadian actor took over the role from Antonio Sabato, Jr. from 1992 to 1995, when the character resurfaced as an FBI agent in Port Charles in February.

Fans feared for John’s fate after gangster Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) shot him twice during a confrontation in the rain in last Friday’s episode.

John wanted Sonny to turn himself in and Sonny was furious that he was going after his family members.
