General Hospital star Haley Pullos, 24, says after drunk driving she ‘takes time away’ from the soap

General Hospital actress Haley Pullos has already been recast on the soap opera after being arrested last month for drunk driving after seriously injuring another driver and having to be pulled from her own vehicle by the jaws of life.

Pullos was traveling on California Highway 134 just before 1:30 a.m. on April 29 and was involved in a head-on collision.

The 24-year-old swerved onto the highway and flew over the median into the eastbound lane, before colliding with an oncoming Kia traveling at 60 mph, leaving the female driver, 23, with serious injuries.

According to a police report, Pullos was unable to leave her 2019 Ford and when the fire department rescued her, she became aggressive.

Police then searched her vehicle and discovered marijuana edibles and mini bottles of tequila and was taken to the hospital before being arrested for drunk driving.

While in hospital, she reportedly became aggressive and fought hospital staff before she had to be sedated.

Pullos was reported to have collided with an Oldsmobile driven by a 27-year-old Fontana woman on the westbound lane before crossing the median. The woman did not sustain serious injuries.

The Pasadena Fire Department had to use the jaws of life to get Pullos out of her vehicle before she was taken to Huntington Hospital.

Images shared by the Pasadena Fire Department show the horrific damage caused by the overnight incident that both drivers thankfully survived.

The fronts of the cars are completely obliterated, with debris from the crash scattered across the highway.

Adding to their post, the department said: ‘Arriving units found two vehicles involved, with one person trapped, following a reported head-on collision.

Firefighters freed one person from a vehicle and cared for the occupants of both vehicles and transported them to hospital.

“Always a reminder to obey the speed limit, avoid alcohol and driving, and never be distracted by passengers, phones, etc.”

Last week, Pullos announced she would not be appearing on the hit soap opera General Hospital as she was recovering from a crash.

In a statement, Pullos said: “Unfortunately I was involved in a car accident and I am fine, but I need some time to recover. I’ll be back as soon as possible!’

An ABC spokesperson said they would not comment on the situation at this time.

The role of Pullos has been given to lookalike actress Holiday Mia Kriegel as she recovers.

Kriegel previously worked with Michael Weatherly on the CBS show Bull and on the TNT series Animal Kingdom.

Pullos played Molly Lansing-Davis on the long-running show and has been doing so since 2009.

She also appeared in an episode of the medical drama House and was nominated for a Daytime Emmy Award in 2015 for her role in General Hospital.

DailyMail.com has reached out to Pullos representatives for comment.
