General Hospital star David Lautman goes viral with epic proposal video to Megan Li Wang which has 18 MILLION views… where he edited himself back into the commercial they met on

General Hospital star David Lautman just raised the bar for unique proposals as a video of his proposal to Megan Li Wang goes viral.

The 35-year-old actor and his new fiancée first met in a commercial for Lenovo laptops they filmed a few years ago.

Lautman decided to film a new scene that he added to the commercial to propose to his girlfriend.

After watching the beginning of the commercial and realizing she might not get paid for it, Wang shot the movie… not knowing she would be filming her own proposal video.

Wang shared the video she recorded about her TikTokwhich had over 18 million views in the past two days, and she also recorded a video explaining how he did it.

The actress captioned the video, “I accidentally recorded my own proposal because I thought an old commercial I did was re-airing without paying me.”

The ad shows both Lautman and Wang using the Lenovo laptops, with Wang saying, “Why are they still broadcasting this? I have to record this, because why are they still broadcasting this?’

The original ad ends and cuts to a new scene where a voiceover artist says, “Is there something you want to say, David?”

The video then cuts to David wearing the same light blue shirt he wore in the commercial as he feigns confusion.

“Hurry up, man, commercials are expensive!” says the voice-over, as David asks, “Who’s speaking now?”

“I’m the new voiceover artist for this spot, Caleb S. You can find me on Fiver, but this is about you, David, is there anything you want to say?” says Caleb.

A confused David then delivers a line from the ad, but Caleb says, “No, idiot, that was my line!” Something about… her?’

He asks if he wants to go to the craft services and he says no, while David says, “We just met at the training fitting two days ago… but maybe future me has something he wants to say,” as he points to the camera.

Caleb says, “You’re finally starting to understand, great. Now you’ll need this too, as a ring box appears and he ‘throws’ it at the real David sitting with Megan.

The real David ‘catches’ the box and laughs. He says it was ‘so hard’ to get her to watch this.”

“Well, we met in this commercial, so I thought it would only make sense if we had an extended version,” David told Megan as he got down on one knee.

“Megan Wang, will you marry me?” he said laughing, as Megan laughed and said, “Yes, I do,” as he put the ring on her finger.”

Lautman shared the news on Instagram with the caption, “She said, ‘Yes. Well, technically she said, “…I don’t know who you are, yeah, sure!” But we’ll chalk that up to the adrenaline, shock, surprise and uncontrollable laughter of the proposal. She also shared the video on Instagram, captioning it, “I said yass! This relationship has been so easy because it is good. You are never offended by my comments, but you offend me even more. You understand me and, most importantly, you understand my cats. You gave them a father they always wanted. I can’t wait to have more cats with you. @davidlautman.’

Wang also took to TikTok to explain how Lautman made the video, first showing the original Lenovo ad they filmed two years ago.

The video was in response to a TikTok user who asked if he filmed the engagement part when they made the video because it looks “the same.”

“Then we met and we were like, ‘Oh my God, wow, we get along great,’ and then a few months later when I sent some DMs, it was a whole thing.”

She then showed a green screen video of David filming the new scene, with Megan adding: “So David, being the actor that he is, gets a green screen and films a whole scene for me. This man wrote a script,” she says, showing the script pages.

Megan then reveals that the new voiceover man is actually named Caleb S and shows the message David sent him on Fiver, asking him to recreate the original voiceover man’s voice.

She adds that the couple was busy watching the Hulu series Dave and that he even recorded “this Hulu beginning” to coincide with the show and make it seem like it’s a real advertisement before an episode of Dave.

Megan explains that the commercial she filmed two years ago was only going to air for a year, so she thought, “These bitches didn’t pay me for this and I’m recording it because I needed it as evidence.” ask for more money!’

The actress said that when she got to the part where he took out the ring, she was “so stunned” that her hand was “glued to my phone” and that she was recording the whole thing because she was “so stunned” .

She concluded, “And this thing ended up being so funny because I literally made a free ad for them, like what the fuck?”
