General chaos! Wisconsin Dollar General store shuts down after its ENTIRE workforce QUITS at the same time due to being forced to work seven days per week

A Dollar General store in Wisconsin was forced to remain closed after its entire staff resigned because they were underpaid and overworked.

Six staff members, including manager Trina Tribolet, at the Mineral Point store failed to show up to open the doors on March 9, instead leaving a handmade sign saying they had quit the night before.

Tribolet said she had been working seven days a week for months because as a manager she could only devote so many paid hours to her staff.

She also noted that this past weekend was her first break since Christmas.

“This is something we’ve been talking about for the past few months. Until Friday evening when we walked away, this weekend was my first time off since Christmas,” the manager said Wisconsin TV station 9 News.

Tribolet called it the “last straw” and was alarmed at the amount of items being thrown away due to the company’s very strict guidelines on which food items can be donated.

Dollar General’s donation policy required employees to throw away items that were nearing their expiration date or that the store no longer sold, the former manager said.

She explained that to get around the policy, the team labeled the items as damaged and donated the products, but when management found out, they were told to stop, which led to them deciding to stop.

In a statement released after the strike, the company confirmed that the store was closed for three hours on March 9 due to no staff. There is now a new staff member working in the store

‘Tears have been shed about the fact that we throw away coffee that is not past its expiration date, but is close.

“Or you throw away a box of good luck charms that you know there are a lot of kids who would love to eat, but you can’t give them away because you actually have to throw them away,” Tribolet explained.

In a statement released after the strike, the company confirmed that the store was closed for three hours on March 9 due to no staff. There is now a new staff member working in the store.

“Additionally, we are proud to provide local Wisconsin communities with donations through our Feeding America partnership in 21 stores across the state.

“Mineral Point Dollar General Store has donated nearly 7,500 pounds of food to local food banks like Second Harvest Food Bank of Southern Wisconsin over the past twelve months.

“Food safety is a top priority for Dollar General and Feeding America members, which is why DG stores are required to follow Feeding America’s donation policy,” the statement said.

Tribolet also said that while she is currently on a mental health break, the rest of her former team already have new jobs.
