Forget boomers! Gen Z and millennials turn on the ‘out of touch’ Gen X with their ‘apathy’, ‘Karens’ and ‘terrible parenting’

  • Gen Z and millennials claim that Gen X is the “worst generation ever.”
  • “Gen X is really just the Karen generation,” one woman wrote
  • ‘They don’t trust young people, are racist and anti-queer’

Gen Z and millennials have moved away from Boomers and are teaming up to turn on Generation X, which they describe as “the worst of both worlds.”

In a new wave of anger and discontent, thousands of younger people are turning against their Gen X parents for their “apathy, social media addiction, closed minds, terrible parenting skills, and detached approach to life.”

Gen X is the term given to people born between 1965 and 1980, between baby boomers (1946-1964) and millennials (1981-1996).

In a series of posts and TikTok videos, many are bashing Gen Xers for their “conservative approach and know-it-all attitude” despite making “no decisions for themselves.”

“Having Gen X parents is worse than Boomer and Millennial parents, because they’re right in the middle, in every way,” one man summed up in a video.

Many focused on the complaints they had growing up with Gen X parents.

Alvin, from the US, does his best to make sure his kids don’t have to worry about money or bills.

“Kids don’t need to know how much the electricity bill is or how much money our family has,” he wrote in a after.

“My parents were happy to tell me about all the expenses they had to pay for my living, such as education, health insurance, bills and even braces. It was a constant complaint that I was expensive. Well, kids are pricey!’

Others had similar complaints about Gen X behavior.

“Gen X will most likely go down as the worst parent group in recent memory.”

“They project too much, have many expectations and don’t give enough emotionally,” he said. “In fact, they attribute social ineptitude to technology rather than their parenting skills.”

“The sarcasm they developed as a defense mechanism to deal with Boomer parents decimates an 8-year-old.”

Millennials and Gen Z also dislike Gen X applying their trademark nihilism to important issues.

“They always debunk our issues – especially about climate change and LGBTQ issues.”

Baby boomers are disabling people and causing problems, but Gen X is also part of the problem. They follow their parents, as millennials and Gen Z have seen how detrimental the mindsets of generations have been to them and are trying to foment change.”

The internet has also dubbed Gen X the “Karen Generation” after spawning a wealth of entitled people who don’t trust young people’s authority and who also tend to be racist and anti-queer.

“Gen X is really just the Karen generation,” one woman wrote. “They’ve never disrespected a teenager in their life.”

Many specifically complained about the “Facebook Mum” stereotype.

“Why do these moms spend hours and hours a day bickering about nothing on Facebook? It’s like it’s the only thing that gives their lives purpose.”

“The absolute worst thing is telling all their friends personal details about their children — and posting photos of a child’s mental breakdowns online.”

A third said, “Please insult Gen X more. My parents never made it past high school — just petty bickering and a Facebook addiction.”
