Gen V producers will not be recasting the character of the late Chance Perdomo

Gen V‘s second season changes significantly following the tragic death of star Chance Perdomo.

In a statement on Sunday, the show’s producers announced that they will not be recasting Perdomo’s character, Andre Anderson. Instead, the team reworked Season 2 prior to production.

“As we continue to deal with the tragic loss of Chance Perdomo, everyone joins us Gen V is determined to find the best way to show respect for his memory,” the statement said. “We will not be recasting the role as there could be one to replace Chance. Instead, we’ve taken the time and space to reimagine Season 2’s storylines as we begin production in May. This season we will honor Chance and his legacy.”

While we don’t know how much of a change this means to the writers’ original plans, Andre was one of the main characters of Generation V’‘s first season, and seemed primed for an even bigger role in season 2. It’s also unclear if Perdomo’s character would have a crossover with The boys, the fourth season of which premieres in June. Perdomo died in March in a motorcycle accident on his way to Toronto to begin filming Gen Vthe second season.

Gen V season 2 doesn’t have a release date yet, but with production kicking off in the coming weeks, we likely won’t see the show return until 2025.
