The dressage rider said she will “never get over it” in a YouTube video that came just days after a beauty queen tragically died in her family’s stables.

On Tuesday, Jessica Whalley, 25, could not be revived by paramedics after she collapsed at Manor House Stables near Malpas in Cheshire, where she worked as a transport manager.

Speaking in the clip, Gemma updates her fans on her life and how she’s feeling after a “challenging few months.

The Love Island star began: “The last month or two have been quite challenging, obviously we’ve lost my competition horse Sirius.”

“It all happened so fast, it was so shocking and then just kind of everything in my life and routine just sort of went away.

‘As you know I don’t have a few different competition horses – he was the only horse I had for the last five years, I had a very good relationship with him.

“It had a knock-on effect on everything, it had a huge impact on my confidence and how I felt in general. I felt pretty down, obviously that’s to be expected after losing an animal.

It hit me correctly.

“I’m in a better place now, I wouldn’t say I’m over it because I don’t think I’ll get over it properly.”

‘You taught me so much Siz and I can never thank you enough, you brought so much joy and happiness to our lives and you will never be replaced. I love you infinitely.

Gemma’s update came after a beauty queen who died in Michael Owen’s stables fainted after falling from her horse, her heartbroken family said today.

Jessica Whalley, 25, could not be revived by paramedics after she collapsed at Manor House Stables near Malpas in Cheshire, where she worked as a transport manager.

Speaking to MailOnline on Wednesday, a relative said he understood Miss Whalley “passed out before falling” from a horse. She added: ‘What can I say? It’s a terrible shock.

Miss Whalley’s friend, Allison Samuel, previously claimed the beauty queen died just days short of her 26th birthday on Saturday, also saying she died after falling from her horse.

But sources at the stable denied this, insisting it would be “premature” to say so, calling it “an incident” not an “accident”.

It comes as the Health and Safety Executive confirmed today that it would not investigate the tragedy because the concussion death was not believed to be ‘work related’.

Mrs Samuel, who used to work with Miss Whalley at Newmarket stables in Suffolk, said Sun: ‘I just couldn’t believe it, we loved her so much.

‘She was a lovely girl who really enjoyed her job. She was popular, everyone liked her, and she was a lovely young woman. This is so unexpected, she was so fit and healthy.

And also beautiful, she could have been a model. It’s a tragedy, it would have been her 26th birthday this Saturday. We have been told that it was a very sudden blow and [she] he fell from his horse, so it was a terrible blow.

The stables declined to comment further when approached by MailOnline about the claims about the horse.

A spokesman for the Health and Safety Executive said: “While we have been made aware of this incident, we are not currently investigating the circumstances as we do not believe it is a work-related death.”

Owen and his staff are said to have wept profusely after Miss Whalley’s death.

A spokesperson for the HM Coroner’s office for Cheshire confirmed to MailOnline this morning that the death was referred to their office yesterday, but no decision on an inquest has yet been made, with the case still “in its early stages”.
