Gemma Collins finally meets her idol Rebel Wilson after admitting she is ‘obsessed’ with the actress while fans declare they ‘could pass as sisters’

Gemma Collins was high on Monday night when she met her ‘idol’ Rebel Wilson after her show at the London Palladium.

The TOWIE star, 43, has previously admitted she is a ‘big fan’ of the actress, 44, and even once tried to track her down at her hotel to meet her.

After the event, An Evening With Rebel Wilson, Gemma was finally able to meet the Australian star and said it was a ‘big moment’.

She shared a radiant photo of the two blonde toppers posing together backstage on her Instagram on Tuesday.

Gemma dazzled in a sparkling silver jacket and green sequin dress, while Rebel dazzled in a black and glittery mesh dress.

With their wavy blonde hair, glamorous makeup and bright white smiles, fans couldn’t help but comment on how similar the pair looked.

One follower said: ‘I love this photo, you could definitely pass as sisters, looks and personalities.’

While others wrote: ‘That’s a powerful combination; What an iconic duo; Legendary icons!!’ and Gemma’s best friends Jedward chimed in, adding: “Iconic Duo REMMA forever!”

And it seems Gemma also agrees with the comparison, saying she would love it if the Pitch Perfect star was a “real sister.”

Ahead of the show, the reality star filmed herself shopping to give Rebel some luxury gifts from Diptyque.

Addressing her followers, she said: ‘I’m super excited, I’m going to see Rebel Wilson tonight – oh my god, I wish she was my real sister, I’m obsessed with her.

‘I hope she loves candles as much as I do, if she’s my sister I think she will too. I’m so obsessed with her and literally so excited to see her tonight and this is a big moment meeting Rebel Wilson.”

She also shared a photo of Rebel posing with her cousin Hayden, after revealing the youngster is also a big fan of the movie star.

In her Instagram caption, Gemma said: ‘I’m so proud of you Rebel, you’re spectacular, here’s to reaching the next level in life for everyone with your inspiring book Rebel Rising. I have all the respect and love for the journey you have been on!

“Your heart and drive to go after things in life is such Girl Power on every level and I’m so happy you’ve found your Disney Princess X.”

In 2021, Gemma expressed her love for Rebel and recalled even trying to arrange a meeting with her.

During her podcast about the Mars mission, she mused about who she would want to take with her if she ever went to space.

Gemma stated: “Rebel Wilson. The last time I looked at her Instagram she was in London. I want to meet her. Me and my cousin Hayden are big fans.”

She continued, “I even recognized one of the rugs that was in her Instagram photo and that’s when I found out which hotel she was in.

‘And I even called the hotel reception and said, ‘Look, this is going to sound really weird, it’s Gemma Collins here, but me and my cousin absolutely love Rebel Wilson. And if she does, you can kindly send her a message that we love her. And maybe she can if she wants to hang out with me and Hayden.

“Literally, Hayden and I watch her movies back to back. She would be my perfect companion to take into space.”

While she also reportedly took inspiration from Rebel when trying to lose weight ahead of her wedding to fiancé Rami Hawash.

It was previously reported that Gemma is motivated by Rebel’s recent body transformation, who lost 35 stone after vowing to make 2020 her ‘year of health’.

Like Rebel, Gemma wanted to lose weight to increase her chances of having a child.

It comes after Rebel opened up about how she finds motherhood and her and Ramona’s experiences with same-sex parenthood during her show on Monday.

“I would tell anyone who is a same-sex parent to go for it,” she joked: “Finding sperm was fun! You have a sperm janitor and I thought, ‘Okay, I want them to be tall and handsome and the love to be perfect,’ so it was all surprisingly easy.”

When host Fearne Cotton asked how she finds motherhood, Rebel candidly replied: “It’s brutal. I completely understand that I am privileged and have a wonderful partner, but it is difficult.

‘In the past year I’ve also written a book, directed a film and starred in an upcoming action film, so it’s a lot. It’s been so much, I have to figure out how to balance it.”

The star also admitted that jet lag with a baby has also taken its toll, as she added, “I get bad jet lag myself, but when the baby has jet lag it’s even worse.”
