Geelong star Jeremy Cameron delivers the ultimate troll to pitch invader as Cats continue winning start to AFL season

  • The match between Cats and Crows was stopped due to the pitch invader
  • Adelaide player Ben Keays had to bring the intruder to the ground
  • Cameron couldn’t help but aim a cheeky troll at the pitch invader

Geelong star Jeremy Cameron is known for his sharp humor and trolling other players online. Now he’s taken those skills to the football field with a hilarious pitch-invader act.

The clash between the Cats and Adelaide Crows was briefly halted on Friday evening when the pitch invader entered the pitch and evaded the efforts of the pursuing guards.

After a referee stopped play, Adelaide midfielder Matt Crouch grabbed the intruder and briefly held him by the sleeve of his shirt before breaking free.

He then ran freely around a pack of players towards Crow Ben Keays, who knocked the perpetrator to the ground before security struck.

Cameron stood nearby and watched the incident unfold. He then raised his arms to the sides of his body in the same motion as a referee holding the ball.

It was a moment picked up by eagle-eyed fans who praised ‘hilarious’ Cameron for targeting the pitch invader live on the pitch.

“Jeremy Cameron with the elite s*** posting DURING a match,” one supporter posted on social media platform X with a laughing emoji.

“I think we’ve nailed Jezza’s next gig,” another added.

“I’m not even an AFL person but THIS is quality,” another commented.

The intruder faces a ban of at least three years from Adelaide Oval and a fine of up to $5000.

And while Cameron was able to make light of the incident, Geelong and Adelaide coaches took a dim view of the field invader’s ‘dangerous’ actions.

“(Australian cricketer) Terry Alderman needed a shoulder reconstruction because of one of these idiots,” Geelong coach Chris Scott said.

”It’s really disappointing and dangerous… pitch invaders, I don’t understand,” Adelaide coach Matthew Nicks added.

The incident came as Geelong continued its winning start to the season with a spirited 19-point win over the Adelaide Crows on Friday.

Geelong’s attacking ace Tom Hawkins scored four goals and produced a game-breaking burst, scoring three goals in 10 minutes after the Crows briefly took the lead in the third quarter.

The 35-year-old’s match performances were decisive in Geelong securing back-to-back wins to open the season.

Adelaide now has two defeats ahead of a test trip to Fremantle next weekend.

Hawkins was dominant in his 349th AFL game, while Tom Stewart (28 disposals) was fantastic in his 150th, scoring 11 points – including 10 interceptions, an AFL record.

“It’s hard to believe with what he has given to our football club that he has only played 150 games,” Cats coach Chris Scott said of the five-time All Australian.

‘That could well be one of the best 150 games ever played.

“I’m obviously biased, but the position he plays in is just special.”
