The dead body of a woman has been found in Geelong after a house fire.
Emergency services rushed to a residence on Upper Skene Street, Newtown, around 2am Monday morning after receiving reports of a fire.
A woman found in the property died at the scene.
A crime scene has been established with an arson chemist and detectives from the Arson and Explosives Squad to inspect the damaged house.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
Geelong is located about 75 km southwest of Melbourne.
