The Great British Bake Off star, 33, – who was recently told she’d have to lose the 14th to carry a child and then decided she wouldn’t have one of her own – also said it’s a time of year is where people ask ‘when are you having children?’.

Laura took to her Instagram Story on Tuesday to say her next podcast episode would help her fans through a tough time of year and offer advice on how to “call up your family and deal with the Christmas diet culture.”

Her word: Laura Adlington has criticized the way some family members may gauge your weight and how much you eat during the holiday season at Christmas

She wrote, “This time of year can be very difficult because people close to you often feel the need to comment on your weight or what you eat.

“Plus, there’s the INEVITABLE ‘when are you having kids?'” and comments about enjoying yourself now and dieting later.

“In this week’s GLY podcast episode, we talk about setting boundaries, challenging your family, and dealing with the Christmas diet culture.”

It comes after last month Laura admitted she’s been struggling with recent pregnancy announcements, having spoken out about her own fertility issues.

The TV star was recently told she would have to lose the 14th to carry a child and then decided she wouldn’t have one of her own.

She took to Instagram to share that news of others’ pregnancies would “absolutely crush her” and fill her with “intense jealousy” and “self-loathing.”

The TV personality posted an image of herself looking down wearing a blue floral dress, concluding that she will always “moan for the baby I don’t have.”

She wrote in full, “I’m in a weird headspace right now to be honest. It feels like the whole world is pregnant, having babies, or putting their kids in pumpkins.

“And while I normally handle it well, I’m finding it a bit tricky right now.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s a lot easier than it used to be. Pregnancy announcements always absolutely crushed me.

“I remember feeling such intense jealousy… to the point where it was as if I had been punched in the stomach.

Then, shortly after, came the uncontrollable tears, followed by the self-loathing of feeling like a horrible person for wondering, ‘Why not me?’ and ‘When is my turn?’

“They say time is a healer, and to some extent it is.

Now, with the influx of recent pregnancy announcements and the birth of new babies comes a familiar sadness rather than a debilitating one.

“I’m very lucky in many ways and I’ve gone on to live a pretty full child-free life. But I’m only human too.

And while I enjoy the late risers and the (usually) tidy house, sometimes I still grieve for the baby I don’t have. And if I’m being honest, I think I always will.’

Laura recently revealed that she was told she would have to lose the 14th to get pregnant and has now decided she will not have children.

The star spent three years trying to conceive with husband Matt before doctors said her only chance was to try IVF and she would have to lose weight first to qualify.

Speak against Fantastic magazine, she said, “Unless you’ve gone through infertility and that heartache of really wanting it and it’s not happening.” . . it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever experienced.’

Laura also said she struggled with her mental health during this time and being unable to conceive was compounded by many of her friends welcoming babies.

The star, who appeared on the 2020 series of the Channel 4 show, shared how she’d always wanted to be a mother and thought, ‘what’s the point?’ if she couldn’t have a child.

She said, “I’ve never thought, ‘I want to end my life,’ but I’ve certainly had thoughts that I didn’t want to be here anymore.” And I’ve called Samaritans a few times and really benefited.”

Laura said she was trying to lose weight after talking to her doctors and even considering bariatric surgery before deciding it wasn’t for her.

The star, who has struggled with her weight since she was eight, found it difficult to lose that much weight before IVF.

She said, “It was so much to lose — about 14th and I just struggled to do that. I wonder if that will always be on my mind, especially now that I’m getting older.’

Laura credits her participation in Bake Off and reaching the finals for helping her through this difficult period.

However, since leaving the show, Laura has faced cruel comments from internet trolls.

Bake Off judge Paul Hollywood previously defended her against the cruel jokes, writing on Instagram, “Heard some sad people are trolling Laura, it’s disgusting behavior.”

The baker said she thinks more needs to be done to “protect” people online and that it’s too easy for internet users to contact people they don’t know.

Laura said she prefers the time without kids to “childless” and feels there are a number of positives to not having kids, including that her time and her money are hers.
