Gayle King, 68, shows off her curves as she recreates her niece’s swimsuit photos in hilarious annual tradition during their five-star Mexican vacation

Gayle King channeled her inner model while enjoying her annual swimsuit shoot with her niece over Thanksgiving.

The 68-year-old CBS Mornings co-host spent her vacation soaking up the sun with her family at Rosewood Mayakoba, a five-star luxury resort on Mexico’s Riviera Maya.

Traditionally, she couldn’t let the long weekend pass without faking her 27-year-old niece Mekenzye Schwab’s bikini photos, which she has been doing since 2017.

King shared photos of herself on Instagram on Monday mimicking Schwab’s poses during their vacation.

“Back by popular demand: our annual Thanksgiving swimsuit photoshoot with favorite niece @mknzschwb,” she captioned the images.

“It all started as a joke in 2017 when I made fun of Mekenzye and now it’s become a thing… but everyone looks good having their photo taken at @rwmayakoba in Cancun! Highly recommended.’

The first photo in the post shows King and Schwab wearing complementary yellow swimsuits with plunging necklines as they walk together on a sandy beach.

When her niece grabbed a piece of bush and smiled at the camera, she struck the exact same pose for her own photo.

In another series of images, they walk down the steps of a yacht as the blue sea shimmers behind them.

Schwab was modeling a black and white bikini, while her aunt wore a similar, albeit less revealing, swimsuit.

King added an unedited close-up of her backside as she walked into the water and a sultry image of herself enjoying an outdoor shower.

The journalist’s hilarious post received more than 13,000 likes and hundreds of fans praised her for it continues the tradition with the shoot.

“Gayle said let me show these kids how it’s done,” one fan responded.

This year, King added a sultry photo of her imitating her niece during an outdoor shower

“How is it possible that you look better every year????” asked another.

The post also caught the attention of some of King’s famous friends, including actress Tatum O’Neil and Jeff Bezos’ fiancée Lauren Sanchez, who both posted heart emojis.

King talked about their annual shoot last year Oprah Daily that she came up with the idea when she saw her niece taking holiday photos in 2017.

Her recreation of the images was a hit with fans, and she has continued to do so every year since with Schwab’s help.

“Mekenzye always poses first, and then I try to imitate whatever she does,” she explained, noting that their “no photoshopping” rule is “part of the fun.”

“And I’m not trying to be a sexy babe – Mekenzye has that… So when I play the ‘who wore it best’ game, it’s clearly a joke and we’re both in on it,” she added.
