Gavin and Stacey’s Christmas Day finale is one of the most watched BBC shows in recent memory, attracting 18.2 million viewers in seven days.

The Gavin & Stacey special was watched by 12.3 million people on Christmas Day itself, but added almost six million to that figure throughout the week.
If news and sporting events were removed from the list, this would be the best BBC One show in recent years.
