Gavin Newsom again rejects claims he will run for the White House in 2024, saying Joe Biden ‘deserves it’ and ‘I believe in this guy’ – in his latest conversation with the president

Gavin Newsom has once again rejected claims he will run for the White House in 2024 – saying he is “not worthy” and that Joe Biden “deserves it”.

California The governor said he “believed in this guy” – referring to the president – during an interview with NewsNation host Chris Cuomo Tuesday evening.

This comes just a day after Newsom dismissed concerns about Biden’s age and said he was giving a “masterclass” in governance.

The California governor is believed to have White House aspirations, but he made clear Monday that he believes Biden is the right person for the job and jokingly denied rumors that he would run against him.

During the NewsNation interview, Cuomo asked Newsom what he thought of Vice President Kamala Harris.

“The only plan B, of course, as a punishment, is the vice president, Kamala Harris, the polls aren’t happening anywhere.” You say she’s the best person to be vice president,” Cuomo said.

Newsom responded, “Of course she is.”

Newsom added that he wasn’t “interested in Plan B because we have the guy who runs the show who is on the train and we all have to get on the train with him.”

Last June, Newsom refused to tell Fox News host Sean Hannity how many people had urged him to run against Biden.

An anonymous Harris aide also called the governor “disrespectful” in his plan to debate Republican candidate Ron Desantis.

After Newsom was asked why he wasn’t running for president, he replied: “Because I believe in this guy.”

“Joe Biden is running with Kamala Harris. That’s the Democratic ticket,” the adviser told NBC News.

Newsom, 55, and Harris, 58, both from California, are old friends. Newsom served as mayor of San Francisco and won two elections as lieutenant governor of California before becoming governor.

Before becoming a U.S. senator in 2016, Harris was San Francisco’s district attorney and won two local elections for attorney general.

When it comes to Hunter, the president’s son, Newsom has openly admitted that he “doesn’t like” the way he has benefited from his family’s connections.

Although Newsom has said he has no plans to run for president in 2024, he has made appearances in other states, embarked on a trip to China and agreed to debate Ron Desantis.

CNN anchor Dana Bash also spoke with Newsom and asked him to comment on Donald Trump’s hesitation on abortion rights.

Trump said Sunday that he did not support the six-week bans, adding that he thought some of the state’s policies were “terrible.”

“I would sit down with both sides and negotiate something and we would achieve peace on this issue for the first time in 52 years,” Trump said.

Trump then accused Democrats of supporting abortion “until and after birth.”

Newsom responded: “What does that mean? After birth? It’s made up – it’s a political matter. People do not seek abortion after birth.

“It doesn’t depend on Donald Trump or me. It’s for women who need it. The reality is that it’s a political canard: it’s stupidity.
