Gavin and Stacey’s Alison Steadman and Larry Lamb reunite for new travel series amid speculation the beloved comedy could return

Sixteen years since the first episode of Gavin and Stacey aired, witty couple Pam and Mick Shipman return to TV screens

In a new documentary airing next week, Alison Steadman, 76, and Larry Lamb, 75, join forces once again to take a trip down memory lane as they drive from Essex to Barry in Wales.

Along the way, they stop at locations that mean a lot to them and take part in activities to let their inner Pam and Mick run wild.

The duo played the role of parents in the classic sitcom from 2007 to 2010 and were a huge fan favorite.

And while many have called for more episodes since the show’s Christmas Special cliffhanger in 2019, it seems neither would be unfavorable to reprise their roles, in scenes reported by The mirror.

During a ride, Alison tells Larry, “I’d love to do another Christmas special,” to which he returns with a grin.

The three-part series of Alison & Larry: Billericay to Barry sees the duo meet a few familiar faces, including Russell Tovey, 41, who plays Gavin and Smithy’s boyfriend Budgie in the sitcom, Rob Wilfort, who played Stacey’s brother Jason, as well as Melanie Walters , who took on the role of Stacey’s mother, Gwen.

Both actors speak of their love for the show, with Larry pointing out, “With the popularity of Gavin & Stacey, you’re a part of so many people’s lives.”

Alison agreed, saying, “It’s lovely to walk down the street and see smiling people come and say, ‘I love your show.’ We watch it as a family.” They are so full of joy and you think, ‘That’s what we need in life!’

The 2019 Christmas special was watched by 17.1 million viewers – making it the most watched scripted TV program of the 2010s in the UK.

Talking about when she first received her script, Alison revealed how she knew the show was going to be a hit.

She said, ‘Pam’s first scene, when she’s laying with cucumbers on her eyes, and Gavin comes in and says, ‘Okay, Mom?’, and she says, ‘Well, no, not really’… It was one of the best ( shows).’

And it looks like fans can expect more Gavin and Stacey treats as there’s talk of another reunion.

James Corden, who co-wrote the show with Ruth Jones, teased earlier this year that he had met.

And Joanna Page, who played Stacey, told The Sun how the cast is “constantly in touch” and everyone needs to know what Smithy said to Nessa.

Joanna also provides the voiceover for the new UKTV show.
