- Gary Neville is enjoying huge success with his popular Overlap series
- The Overlap started on YouTube in 2021 and has since gained a massive following
- Published financial accounts show that the company has more than £1 million in cash in the bank
The ability to turn football ventures into profit was highlighted by the success of Gary Neville’s The Overlap series.
Neville started behind-the-scenes production on YouTube two years ago and has clearly enjoyed tremendous success as the company produced their latest financial statements.
The channel started with Neville starring alongside other professional athletes as he conducted in-depth and unique interviews with the likes of David Beckham, Tyson Fury, and Harry Kane.
It has since developed into one of the most followed sports productions in England, evolving further into an on-the-road live show where Neville, Jamie Carragher and Roy Keane debate popular football topics.
The most recent financial accounts show that its popularity has led to an increase in cash in the bank, with The Overlap Ltd holding assets in excess of £1 million, a significant increase from last year’s £576,169.

Net current assets also nearly doubled to £146,571 as the show’s popularity continued to soar during the recently concluded Premier League season.
An increase in revenue and profit means that corporate tax has also risen from £19,025 in 2021 to £34,357 for the 12 months of 2022, an increase of more than 80 per cent.
The company opted not to provide a copy of its profit and loss statement, but at the standard rate of 19 per cent, the corporation tax paid can be used to calculate profits at around £181,000.
Neville is joined by three other men, Marc Boyan, Scott Melvin and Paul Summers, on The Overlap’s board of directors, but recent accounts submitted to Companies House show zero employees and thus no salaries are paid out.
The Overlap has amassed over 500,000 followers on YouTube at the time of publication.
The former Manchester United full-back has built a career as a shrewd business capitalist since he retired 12 years ago after making 602 appearances for his boyhood club.

An unsuccessful spell in Valencia management followed before Neville returned to television screens, where he has built a reputation as one of football’s most supported pundits and commentators.
He also joined other members of United’s legendary Class of 92′ in buying out Salford City and has overseen the former National League side’s rise to the EFL.
Expansions in the hospitality industry have further enhanced Neville’s profile as a successful entrepreneur in the city of Manchester, where he has launched several luxury hotels.
Neville has also invested in property development with his company ‘Relentless Developments’ with a portfolio of £200 million development in the city centre.
