Gary Neville has hit back at a junior Sky Sports producer who accused the pundit of ‘talking rubbish’ about his comments about Manchester City’s performance this season – with the associate subsequently deleting his Twitter account.

Connor Humm, a junior assistant producer at Sky, had criticized the pundit on Twitter.

The Arsenal fan claimed that Man City would surpass the performance of the Treble-winning Manchester United side where Neville had played this season due to their superior football.

The Sky contributor wrote that Neville had previously questioned Man City’s expressions during the campaign.

“Gary Neville said Manchester City were not at their usual level this season,” Humm wrote.

Gary Neville became embroiled in a social media spat with a junior producer at Sky

The Sky Sports pundit responded to criticism over his comments about Man City this season

The exchange came in the wake of Man City’s 4-0 win over Real Madrid on Wednesday

“They are on the verge of surpassing his club’s best-ever season and are doing so in a much more impressive way.”

Humm claimed in a separate post that Neville had “talked rubbish.”

Neville responded to the first post by responding with ‘Are you okay? They were not at their usual level. What a weird point to make.

“By the way, tag me if you work at Sky. Do not be shy.’

Humm deleted his Twitter account following the social media spat with the Sky Sports pundit.

The spat followed Man City’s 4-0 win over Real Madrid in the second leg of their Champions League semi-final with Pep Guardiola’s side advancing 5-1.

City are now closing in on the prospect of a Treble setting up a final against Inter Milan next month.

The reigning English champions are on the verge of claiming a fifth Premier League title in six years, while they will also play Man United in the FA Cup final.

Neville had claimed that ‘something is not right’ with Man City after their loss to Spurs in February

The result remains City’s latest defeat with Pep Guardiola’s side closing in on a possible Treble

Neville had already claimed in February that “something is not right” with Man City after the champions lost 1-0 to Tottenham Hotspur.

The result had left Guardiola’s side five points behind Arsenal in the title race, with Neville admitting he was beginning to doubt whether he would support them to retain the title.

The Sky Sports pundit had insisted all season that City would chase Arsenal in the title race.

City could secure a third successive title at the weekend if they beat Chelsea at home on Saturday.

Neville has poked fun at Arsenal fans who criticized him for his criticism of the team ‘over-celebrating’ before the Gunner’s title challenge imploded.

The former Man United defender had accused Arsenal of ‘celebrating too much’ of victories and claimed their players were guilty of getting ‘too emotional’ during their battle with City.

Neville had laughed off criticism from Arsenal fans in a series of social media exchanges.
