Gary Neville and Jamie Carragher have praised Jurgen Klopp after Liverpool’s Carabao Cup final success.
Klopp secured the first trophy of his final season as Liverpool manager, with Virgil van Dijk scoring in extra time in a 1-0 win over Chelsea.
Neville described Klopp as a ‘special manager’ and one of the best in Premier League history.
Liverpool finished the match with a host of young players on the pitch, with Neville saying Klopp makes a ‘bantamweight team punch like a heavyweight’.
Neville told Sky Sports: ‘Special managers do special things and he is one of the best the Premier League has ever seen. A monster manager with a middleweight team, a bantamweight team, but hits like a heavyweight. It’s because of him.’

Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher stated that Klopp is determined to go out with a bang after announcing he will leave the club at the end of the season.
Carragher said: “What a win! Absolutely huge. Jurgen Klopp wants to go out with a bang and they have made the best possible start. They persevered. The spirit of the club, the young players, everyone came together.
‘That support behind the goal and that man (Van Dijk). When we look back at Jurgen Klopp’s era, he is right at the forefront. Yes, we will talk about Klopp’s children, but that was a colossal performance from that man on both sides of the pitch.’
Youngster Conor Bradley started the game, while fellow prospects Bobby Clark, Jarell Quansah, James McConnell and Jayden Danns all came on.
After winning the Carabao Cup, Liverpool are aiming for further glory before Klopp leaves.
Liverpool are currently top of the Premier League, having progressed to the fifth round of the FA Cup and into the round of 16 of the Europa League.
