Gary Neville has claimed it would be ‘extreme’ for Manchester United to sack Erik ten Hag with an FA Cup win.
United triumphed on penalties to reach the final after a remarkable draw against Championship side Coventry at Wembley.
Despite United building a three-goal lead, Coventry managed to level the score at 3–3 and send the match to extra time, ultimately resulting in penalties.
In a repeat of last year’s final, the Red Devils will take on local rivals Manchester City in the decider next month.
And Neville believes it would be harsh to sack Ten Hag if United win the final, with pressure mounting on the Dutchman after a dismal season in the Premier League and Champions League.

The former defender told Sky Sports: ‘My view would be that if he won the FA Cup and won a trophy last season, firing a manager who has won two trophies in his first two seasons at the club, I think would be extreme. .
‘Winning trophies should never be underestimated. If you have the ability to win trophies and you can get through things, I don’t think you can ignore that.
‘There is a good chance that they (INEOS) will fire Ten Hag. They’ve wiped out everything else at the top of the club and when he wins a trophy and it’s two trophies on the line, it’s difficult.”
Former Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher, on the other hand, believes Ten Hag’s fate was sealed with the dismal performance against Coventry.
He said: ‘In the end we were all watching and Mark Robins famously kept a Man Utd manager in charge and I think that result cost a Man Utd manager his job today.
‘I don’t understand how he stays. Not me. I imagine that locker room is the most embarrassing locker room you can remember when a team won a big game.”

Ten Hag is under pressure, with United almost guaranteed to miss Champions League football in the next campaign as they currently sit 16 points behind Aston Villa.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS are plotting major changes this summer and this could extend to Ten Hag, although it is thought no decision has been made yet.
The likes of Graham Potter and Gareth Southgate have been linked with the managerial role at Old Trafford in recent months.
